any suggestions

first time overclocker.

over-clocked me system but cant get it to pass blend test in prime95 and orthas(errors within 10 mins), it can pass small FFT on both(ran for 8 hours).

vcore 1.41875
memory 2.178
nb 1.563

memory 4.4.4.12.24 @ 800
have tryed looser timings 5.5.5.15.30

however i tryed upping the nb to 1.748(the next setting up) and it didnt fail but i stopped it because i was worried it would get to hot as its only got stock cooler.

am i right in thinking that nb at 1.748 would be risky or would it be ok
i have a Scythe Andy Samurai Master CPU Cooler so its a downdraft
it might cool that area ibit but not much.

so i think temp is ok for air cooling.

what sort of cooler is on the NB? Is it bare? Is there a heatsink on it? If so, does said heatsink have a fan? If not, is it a tiny heatsink or big one? If tiny, remove the stock one and put on a bigger heatsink, possibly one with a fan.

it does get hot to touch tho

That NB heats up pretty fast. Either back down your FSB/vNB or replace the heatsink with a good one like:

For $10 at most places. I have one. Pretty good & flexible (compatible with almost any chipsets).

 

You could try and cable tie a fan onto your current NB HS many do this and drop temps by 5-10C.
