Any way I can change how fast I get booted off here?

I've had this happen a couple of times now and I wonder if there is a
setting for it.
I was just typing up an answer to someone's software question here.
I got a phone call during this time. I tried to keep pecking away,
but at a much slower clip of course. I finished my phone call,
finished my answer and hit enter and the website sent me back to
the log on screen. So I logged on, and the website sent
me to a screen telling me that I had reached the wrong link.
In other words it did not post my response to the thread.
I tried to hit the back button a few times but my carefully
worded response was lost.
I know the time frame for this is not very long, because I have had
it happen in the middle of a lengthy response with no outside
interruption involved.
Is there an adjustment I can make for this?
And if not, can you tell me what the exact time frame is that I need
to adhere to?

 

What I and few other members do is to select your post and copy it once you reach a certain number of words,then if you are diconnected,you simply have to paste it back in a reply,I havn't ever experienced a time limit on a reply I have left a couple of sentencies there for ages,I think it may be more due to a connection prob you have as you are rerooted back to the log in screen

 

Anything is possible, but I am on the internet on average
6-10 hours a day. I have a dsl link and the only other place
I get booted off of is another bulletin board.
