Any way to detect hacker attacks?

Is there any way to tell if you're being screwed around with by a hacker attacking your IP Address in some way or slowing down your connection somehow? Is that even possible? If so, how could you even stop it?

 

if youve noticed slower speeds than usual, it could likely be caused by malware. it might be worth it to go through the read and run me in the malware section. its the way the malware guys(and girl) like to start when helping people with malware issues. heres a link.

I have McAfee Security Center (which has a firewall) running and am running Vista. Both are up to date (supposedly).

 

If you have a Cabl/DSL Router then it is probably local.

Otherwise clean your computer and buy a cable/DSL Router.

If the computer was compromise down;oad this free utiity and run it to make sure that it does not generate unwanted traffic out.
