Any way to keep laptop cool

I have a cooling pad for my laptop.

I am trying to run a mmo on it.But while in mmo my CPU ranges from 80c to 95c that is pretty warm any way that is what speccy is telling me.

i have the system in power saved mode again and it seems to have cooled the laptop down by touch a lot.The Hard drive was really warm at one point.

I think i fixed one issue in the power options.For some odd reason the CPU fan was not Active in active setting mode.

Trying to get this laptop to the point where i don't burn it out.

Is there any other tips i can use to keep it past 70c or so.I think the Air intake and outtake need to be dusted.

I use a laptop, which at 2 years old, I was amazed at the amount of dust, which had accumulated in the exhaust side if the fan So you might be correct, with the clean out point you made.

An issue I had was the fan needed to be replaced, it used to make a horrible ticking sound, at first I thought it was the hard drive.

However at the same time I used to get very hot under the left hand where it rests, when laptop is in use. To correct this I got some thermal paste / grease applied to the graphics card which was apparently situated underneath this area, according to tech.

Perhaps a similar thing might help you, of course will depend on your laptop. It may require additional thermal grease / paste.

Just a thought, the thermal grease goes typically on cpu / gpu. It spreads / conducts these contact area's to these heat sinks for efficient cooling.

Or check with other forums see about your brand and type of laptop, it maybe a familiar issue listed there, with potential solutions.
