Any World of Warcraft players here?

It's my first MMORPG and it's alot of fun. Huge time commitment, tho. Was just wondering if there were any other WoW'ers here.

 

Yep, 60 Palladin, 23 Rogue, 47 Hunter. All in Skullcrusher(pvp) Alliance. If you need a guild I can invite. Any questions just ask. Its cool that you picked this as your first mmorpg, as others leave a sour taste in your mouth.

 

Yeah my main is a 60 Mage, and a big stable of alts (to get bigger since blizz is gunna allow copying toons from one server to another, outside of the high pop to low pop moves). I play on Bloodhoof and am in a great guild called Mental Atrophy. We're geeked for the patch that is apparently coming tomorrow and the new Zul'Gurub instance. We've been hitting Molten Core weekly and trying to fit in Onyxia runs as well. Fun stuff, except for the repair bills ZG runs will be guild only, we're not currently big enough to hit MC guild only but have an alliance of guilds to hit that content.

I actually have a toon on Skullcrusher named newvirus, started it to get in touch with a buddy who plays on there when I couldn't reach him on the phone. I'll have to start playing him more.

who said patch is tommorow!? Lv 60 repair bills suck, cept you got cloth and theyre like 27c. . I can't wait for the patch (playing only on my hunter)

 

The ONE reason i DONT play these games is because they steal your money with the monthly fees!

I play on a buddies account, no big deal, i dont get addicted since i was cut off of everquest.

 

there were indications on the Blizz forums that tomorrow is the day. we've got a tentative guild event on Wed for ZG already.

and yeah, cloth wearers get it easy. we've been taking alot of new 60's in and that can get sloppy on the core hound patrols if they don't stay where they're supposed to. Lucifron is easy but they don't seem to handle Magmadar too well.

Hm i see, they're saying realms down for 2hrs tommorow, and theyre adding RP PVP servers. But no info on patch or anything like that.

 

a couple of guildies just posted that they're downloading 1.7 now... and doing the usual complaining about the blizz patch dispenser.

 

yawr! yep, downloading patch now till i get bored. Then i'll probably cancel it and go to fileplanet and snatch it from there.

 

55% complete, 8k/s... Its 56k all over again!. I wish they outed the patch the night before to file distributors, they have a 4million player base (1million+ in the US alone); and they still force the BT crap on us.

 

yeah, that'd be nice... I'm spoiled tho, by the time I get home from work a guildie has it hosted somewhere for me to nab.

We're going to do a dire maul tribute run tonight, that is if the servers aren't fubar'd. Patch Tuesdays are always tentative. Not even going to try zul'gurub tonight, that instance will be hit hard today.

 

I never had patcher trouble till I got on Cable with WoW.

I always downloaded at 160k/s on ADSL.

 

got it from fileshack in about 6 mins, not counting waiting in line for about 8. Havent' really played it yet, but it's installed. Hopefully the new high lvl raid will be cool.

I have a question, is the alliance THAT bad in every other server? The amount of BG wins vs losses (non AV) here are horrid, maybe 1/20 or 1/25 wins will be alliance if at best. Personally from level 21-47 (current level) I have won 4 WSGs, total; I play WSG over 10 times a week. Yes, I blame jesus (aka shamans). Had one in closed beta, but never realized how damn overpowered they were; its like hitting a freight train at full speed.

 

I haven't done much in WSG, but from what I hear horde is not represented very well on Bloodhoof. That's second- and third-hand information though.

Went into Zul'Gurub last night, it was pretty cool. made it to the second boss but wiped, and at that point alot of people had to leave since it had gotten so late, so we're looking to go back tonight. The instance ID's only persist for 2.5 days apparently, so you only have two days to try to get to the boses further up the line.

Yes, Alliance is that bad on most servers.

Part of the reasoning, at least on my server, is the imbalance. More Alliance than Horde means Horde has an easy time queueing as a team. They get in with an organized team of folks familiar with one another against a pick-up of Alliance which is usually a mix of experienced PvPers and folks who've never PvPed a day in their lives. You wind up with too many Rambo's in Alliance groups, and as a result an organized Horde team will steamroll you 9 times out of 10.

 

We have a 2 horde to 1 alliance on our server; still sucks just as bad.

Apparently the patcher problems are OS specific.

I installed WoW on my Powerbook and downloaded the patch at 1.2mb/s without dropping my firewall, or opening router ports.

Thats megaBYTES, not bits.

My PC is downloading it at 500-800kb/s.

Did they fix it?
