    :p Hi. I need a program that can monitor CPU usage for all the running applications on my machine. Preferably one that gives real time information. There is something using a lot of CPU capacity on my machine. I have run every kind of scan for nasties that I can think of and the system seems clean.

    Thanks for your help. Frank.

    Press control+alt+delete. Click on the Processes Tab. It will tell you how much CPU resource each process is using. Now, a process doesn't nessecarly = a program, but it should give you a pretty good idea of what is chewing up all ur CPU resources. Feel free to post the process that is using all the CPU resources if you don't know what it is, and we can help you figure out what it is and how to fix the situation.

    Yep, Process Explorer is worth its' weight in rocking horse manure when tracking down CPU hogs. One of my "keepers" and essential, IMHO. Bazza

    If you access the system monitor under performance under administrative tools you will find options for monitoring the systems processor use, etc. There seems to be a way to set some paramaters and then leave the performance monitor to track activity over a selected time. But I am uncertain to how you would get this to work.

    Thanks JD. Can you spell out the path for me, like
    Start-->Control Panel-->System-->etc
    I'd like to check it out, but I'm not too sure where to start. :D Bazza
