I just started using PG2 on my XPPro PC and I have a question or two or twenty. I checked their FAQs and I downloaded/read the manual, but didn't find an answer to my main question. In the screen shot below, why are some of the listings bright blue? What does this signify? Also, I did an IPwhois and the company to whom the IP is registered is different from what's shown in PG2.
If you're familiar with PG2, please post.
    THANKS!

Those are blocked IPs as per their database. I can't answer the other question.

Click the setting in the top left corner, it lets you change the color for items your blocking or allowing, or as I do, not show what your allowing. That is what the colors mean (blocked, allowed, HTTP, etc.) There are a few options underneath it. I don't know what lists your using but the 'factory' list isn't real reliable. http://iblocklist.com/lists.php is the ones I use, depending on your use for PG2, the level1 and level2 should be all you need. I also 'allow' HTTP. Just be careful with the lists, you can bring you internet to a halt.

Thanks guys, I had pretty much figured it out, but thanks again. One other question; the PG2 icon in the system tray started flashing last night. When I opened it up, there was a bunch of blocked IPs. Is this why it started flashing was because of the blocked addresses?

PG starts blinking when HTTP addy's are blocked, those may need investigation. I don't block HTTP but I'm not sure if that's good or bad..

You can change the flashing under settings > notifications. You can choose HTTP or all blocks or no flashing.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm getting more info here than I could find after an hour searching the PG site and reading their manual LOL
Thanks again... I'm sure I'll have some other questions as I get into PG a bit more. I'm just using the 'stock' list that 'ships' with PG2. Should I use the Bluetack lists (like the Level1 and/or Level2 lists)?

The lists I linked to in my first post, and I've tried many different sources always update and grow in size. Accuracy is another thing, using the lists is putting your faith in others hands but I have been trouble free thus far. In my link you DON'T want level three, it blocks IM's, most software updates, etc. I call it the 'paranoid' list.

LOL, may as well cancel your Internet subscription then @ level3!:-D

Or, don't have a need for PG in the first place.;)

Again, thanks for all the excellent info. I was surfing around the web last night and some sites weren't opening as they should, so I took a look at PG2 and it turns out that it blocks HTTP by default :confused As soon as I changed that setting, it was fine. I'll download the Bluetack Level1 list tonight and I'll see how it goes from there.... It's not like I have anything to hide, but I just don't like the idea of being part of a marketing 'survey' without knowing it. I don't like the feeling that someone is tracking what I'm doing, even if it is totally legit and legal stuff. It would be like if someone just followed you around town and took notes as you lived your life from day-to-day. It's just creepy!!!
    LOL

Weird, I've been using this for years and never had HTTP on by default. I second your.:confused
