Anyone else think it's time for a new motherboard?

    I was having some problems with my Vdd being erratic.. 1.3 to 1.78 and the system would lock up. Thought it was the power supply so I bought a new one. Got the new power supply but the 20 pin main wasn't long enough so I bought an extension. All in all, the box was down for close to 3 months. Just got around to installing the 20 pin extension and I noticed this on the caps..
    Anyone else think it's time for me to whore out my body so I can buy a new board? :eek:

    Definitely! I've had about 6 of those up to now and different manufacturers too. I believe it was a complete batch of faulty caps.

    What motherboard is it Kodo? Abit settled a lawsuit on those bad caps, and IIRC, they're allowing some credit toward a new mobo. Some of the other mfgrs may be as well.

    I would be more concerned with the white circle
    thats been embedded there
    that would cause arcing and such

    @GT, it's an epox 8rda3+

    @Jarcher: The white circle is not an anomaly. It was printed on the board.

    I think Epox warrantees their boards for 2 years. If yours is younger than that, contact them. Couldn't hurt.

    good idea..the board bios was 8/2003 before I updated it last night (before I noticed the caps). I bet new egg still has a record of the transaction. I'll have to check and see when I bought it.
