Anyone having FF update problems?

So for 2 days, my Mozilla FF has been going through all sorts of stages that I can't even remember to list. Basically, during it's automatic update, there was a corrupt file/error and it wouldn't let me open it at all. After many attempts, including a fresh download, it still said update couldn't work, so I System Restored 3 days back it was working fine...until it tried an automatic update again. Now I get a download progress bar for the update but it stops and says "Software Update Failed - One or more files could not be updated. Please make sure all other applications are closed and that you have permission to modify files and then Restart FF to try again."

I don't know if I have permission, but I make sure the rest is in order and I restart FF, but I get the same message each time.

I'm using IE right now and having FF withdrawl. Can anyone help? Thanks!

It sounds like 1 of 2 things to me.

Either 1. You aren't logged on as the administrator, or 2. You need to repair your permissions.

Download and launch dial-a-fix http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4899.

> click Tools
> click Repair Permissions
> click GO
> reboot (because your computer will be happy)
