Anyone know a program that can do this?

I'm looking for a program that can extract certain files from folders and copy or move them to another folder. For example, if I wanted to move/copy every file that has the extension ".gif" in 40 different folders, does anyone know of a program that would let me do that?

 

NOT SURE ..but cant you search gif and then highlight them and send to?..just a guess

 

It's a really big pain when you have hundreds of folders and thousands of files.

 

seems to me a simple batch program would do the job but it may take for ever

 

Search, Ctrl A, and SendTo would be the most basic way. Would work well if you wanted all the data in the same folder...

 

I have a program that does this. It was written on a request from me by the writer of "Duplicate File Finder" whose website is now gone. He just changed a little bit of code from the Dupe finder to cut or copy rather than delete when if found the files you specified. I could up it on a file hosting server if that's allowed here. Actually I would upload them both. I have tried many freeware and pay dupe file finders and this little known freeware is the best I've found. Just let me know.

 

Could I PLEASE get ahold of that? Do you have AIM, MSN, ICQ, Yahoo!, or Skype? I'm available on any.

I really wish I could find the guy who was working on this project, he had a forum and everything and actually implemented peoples suggestions into the program, all for free. I like that kinda person.

 

I am needing a program to do this as I have thousands of vector graphics files that I need to relocate to one drive from several locations and I have gobs of duplicates. Could I please get a copy of that program too?
