Anyone know how to open .exe slideshows?

A friend asked me to help her open an .exe slideshow with family pictures inside it.
I can't figure out how to do it.
Anyone know?

 

.exe files need only to be double-clicked to run. They are stand-alone programs, and do not require any application to run. It IS the application, if you follow.

If it doesn't play, it will need to be remade. (Assuming she made it). If it is from a third party, then I strongly recommend that you virus scan the file before executing.

Actually I know what an executable is. lol
But my friend had her images compressed and put as an exe slideshow.
Now she can't find the original images and the only images she has are in the slideshow. So we're hoping to salvage the images by somehow extracting them.
Any ideas now? thanks...

 

Ahhh! That could be the problem...I apologize...its likely that the pictures need to be in the same directory (or a directory specified in the executable's interface) for the slideshow to show. Extracting them to the correct folder using TimW's method above should help. If you cannot specify one, I would assume they need to be in the same folder.

 

Nope, the right click CD explore option only gave the 2 .exe slideshow files.
No folders, no files, no nothing.
I'm guessing I have to decompress it somehow?
