Anyone know what happened to spywareinfo.com?

The site has been unavailable for days now, I wonder if they're a victim of a DoS attack

Dunno, but I was working on a client's machine a few days ago and needed several things from links through spywareinfo, and the server was completely down then, too.

Kinda spooky when you need anti-spyware tools and the developer's site is down. Makes you wonder whether the spyware got your hosts file, and then you start to wonder about a dozen other things.

Definitely down tonight, though. It isn't your machine or ISP or DNS.

 

Well that's good to know...I guess...hope they're back up soon.

 

The merijn.org is down too. That is the one where you get all of the definations for HJT. Really need those once in awhile as I have a couple of things in my HJT file that are curious to me.

Hmmmmm, I got to the Merijn site, but when I clicked the help forum link the page was not available. Must be they are still having trouble & I am still not able to access the spyware.com site neither.

if you hang around this site for a while you'll see Robo is a decent guy who Ive never seen have a bad word for anyone

as for the question posed i have to agree that if i was organizing something like this the more hits you get the better the result

i have to admit Ive tried reaching the site a couple of times myself after reading the reports

 

Technically that's true, just as evey car in rush hour traffic contributes to the clog, but normal user traffic trying to access the site is not going to be constantly pounding on the server like the trojan-bot-controlled zombie machines do. As I understand it, it's a matter of sheer massive volume of network requests.
