    Hi all,

I was curious what the file "windows\system32\macromed\flash\testupdate.txt" did.

    Anyone have any thoughts?

I've checked Google, Adobe's site as well as here and it doesn't seem to be well-described any where.

    Thanks in advance!

Right click it and open it in notepad or word and you will see what it says.

Sorry for not providing the context:

My Comodo Firewall launched a "possible malware" when I opened several tabs in Firefox.

I blocked it and cannot find the file anywhere on my computer.

The MajorGeek folks were very helpful in sharing it probably wasn't malware, but, I'm curious why would any part of Flash need to read a text file on my computer.

Maybe that where Macromedia, now Adobe keeps track of the updating that has been done through the various versions.
Macromedia is old and now adays most software might have a log file to keep track of changes made to its software.
