Can someone look in their directory for Panda (C:\porgram files\panda software\ panda antivirus titanium) and see if they have an executable called titjobs.exe?

Don't laugh, its a very suspicious name, but thats where it resides and I dont recall ever seeing it before.

I didn't find much of anything searching around for it.

I'm guessing it is normal...I have another computer that has the same file.

It most be part of their updater that runs daily that did not shut down properly after updating.

I have "pavjobs.exe" but I have Panda Plat 7. I'm guessing the "tit" is short for Titanium.

    Yeah, ok.

Go back and sit in your corner now ;)

    Norton is pure crap IMO.

Never state an opinion as fact, unless you know for sure.

    And you dont.

Panda picked up two trojans that Norton let slip through and it was always up to date with the latest definitions.

    Which leads to the question:

All of the Norton AV fans out there, tell me what Norton has going for it besides the name?

There are quite a few AV out there that do what Norton does and more without the bloat, and the cost.

If you were to take NAV and strip its name, and call it say, Jim Bo Antivirus, would you buy and use it for all the bloat it contains (and the fact that its Trojan cleaning ability is crap)?

I bet most of you would say NO.

Yeah well, what it obviously stands for is dependent on what you are thinking (or looking at) at the time :D

I use nortons. Can I download another av to test while it is on my machine? Or do I need to delete norton first?
I want to try the AntiVir Personal Edition in the MGs downloads.

As I understand it you should only use one AntiVirus at a time, I believe it's because if you use two they can pick up each other's virus library patterns and treat them as a virus.

unless you tell em to ignore the other programs thing. generally though, the virus libraries are identifiers for the viruses, as apposed to the virus code itself!
