anyone remember Myst ? Can't load it

Yes I remember those games (more played on the original XBox).

Revelation should work in Windows 7 as per the Compatibility list HERE

Exile is not listed, so dont know on that one.

What you may need for Revelation is the patch files from HERE (click downloads), you may also need to install DirectX9 as while Win7 has Directx11 for older games to run they need some D3D DLLs from DX9 to run the game properly as DX11 does have them

So install DirectX9 from HERE

Try also right clicking the games shortcut and choose Run as Administrator and see if that helps, you could also run the game in compatibility mode for XP SP3 and to try this again right click the games shortcut and choose Properties then Compatibility and choose XP SP3 from the drop down.

Outside chance of running them is in Windowed mode, and to do this right click the games shortcut and in the path add a space then -window to the end and apply, so eg. is C:/program files/riven/revelation.exe -window (note the space between the e and -)


Another is use dosbox to run the game.


But also give us any information on the error messages if any you get when launching the game, or does anything start to run but does not, say flashes on screen for a second or two?
