i was looking into using this... I won't want to use itunes because the music isn't in mp3 format...

i was looking into Napster and notice that it says on their website u have to maintain a subscription to their music service in order to access (listen to) the songs you've downloaded...

are there any legitamate (legal) mp3 services that allow you to burn the mp3's you download (for personal use of course)... i'd like to be able to burn the songs i download onto CD-R's so i can listen to them in my car...

    try http://www.allofmp3.com/
it's a russian site (with an english version; just click on the link top left) that utilizes a loophole in russian law that allows them to give you songs of any bitrate in any format you choose for extremely cheap. i haven't used this before personally (i like buying cd's more due to higher quality), but i know a couple people who have used it and love it.
