AOL Problems

Let me just state i do not have AOL im not stupid enough to get it.
But my friend is, to cut a long story short, he has tried to uninstall AOL in the past and it messed up his internet connection.
He has since tried to load on AOL 9.0.
I had a look at it last night and it dials up AOL gets patst the password section then says contacting server/aol (cant remember now) gets to stage 4 of the dial up then restarts from stage 1. After doing this about three times AOL seems to start up it give you the news page and gets your emails. But if you try to surf, it says there was a problem with the connection.
Can anyone help.
Sorry if the info i vague but i never touch AOL and dont understand it.

hi Ricard. He's not by any chance using the high speed aol lines with a low speed dialup (or viceversa) is he?

 

No its just normal, dial up
