Can anybody supply a step-by-step, safe procedure for a comprehensive uninstall of AOL, for a doofus? I understand there's a lot more to this uninstall than Add/Remove Programs and CrapCleaner.

Came across this - http://marahs-aol-log.livejournal.com/9940.html - but there are important areas where she doesn't provide decisive, doofus-proof instructions, like the 'Registry Finder' section.

I'm sure a clear set of instructions would be useful to a lot of people. Thanks.

What I did before installing the new 9.0 VR was set a Restore Point first and then run the AOL uninstaller and removed everything in first list. There will be an underlined blue link that asks if you want to search for other versions, click it and uninstall everything that is there, do that a couple times just to make sure it doesn't miss anything.
GO to Start > Programs and delete any AOL that may be left there.
Then goto My Computer > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files and delete any AOL folders.
Then goto Common Files and delete any AOL Folders there.
One last time goto My Computer again > Local Disk (C:) > Documents and Settings. Here you will find the User folders. Go into each one and click Application Data. Get rid of any AOL in each Users folder.
And last of all run a register cleaner like CCleaner. It worked for me with no problems.
    Hope that helps:)
