Apach/PHP help

I installed apache and php with this thing called apachefriends.

It seemed to work out ok but how do I actually look at php files on my computer...

When I open them they wont display right.

Like how do I use it.....I don't even know what to ask I'm just a lowley graphic designer trying to diplay the site. : (

It brings me to http://localhost

It says I can add things to the directory, but how?

 

OK if you look were you installed the server should be either just in C:/ or C:/program files/apache/php or close as that. Now if you look inside you should see a folder called www this is were you would place your webpages.make sure you name you home page you make "index.htm"

You may of been better of installing Easyphp i use this and it is easy to work with. You also need a good editor there is some good free ones.

I have little time as now but tomorrow i can walk you through a few steps if you like.

Also you can get a free DNS registration so you can call your home site what you like such as www.nwowatcher.mine.nu sounds better than 128.98.34.21

Easyphp if you want it is HERE also you will find a good php editor (free) from there.

Also here is a walk through guide for installing and setting up EASYPHP on yur home computer..If you get stuck i will help you when i ahve some time tomorrow.
