Apple IIE computer problem

ok yesterday someone gave me a apple 2E computer it was made in 1989 i think its in ment con. but i cant seem to get the disk drive to work i put a disk in it and start the pc up but nothing happens does anyone know anything about these old computers? and oh yea i think when i get it working to full i might try to sell it does anyone know how much i could get out of a working ment Apple IIE computer it has everything even the order slip and the box it came in lol

 

Back when I used the IIe, if you didn't close the little door/arm that comes down across the 5.25" disk opening, it wouldn't work (I think). Most annoying thing ever, unless you're using the computer during an earthquake -- and you have bigger things to worry about then. But that's all I've got for troubleshooting 'em.

Such a specimen should be in a museum!

 

i know about the door thing lol i have another floppy disk drive around here somewere i just have to look for it

 

Make sure that the disk you are trying to boot from is a program or application disk and that the disk is not damaged. Try a few different disks and possibly a few differnt disk drives if you have them. Those things were known for going out faster than a geek in a fight with Mike Tyson. (ba-doom-ching!!!) If you have no other disks i got a shitlaod floating around somewhere.

Yeah, new floppies/drive sounds like a good way to troubleshoot At least it's Friday for me today - I think I needed it
