I've read the few threads I could find titled Application error and will apologize if my solution was in one of them, I did not find what I was looking for. I have an Acer laptop and recently my brother somehow installed System Security onto my laptop. We were able to remove it but now whenever you log on it displays an Application Error. I'm afraid it's going to mess up my computer and would appreciate any help in fixing it. The error states. "Exception EIncorrectUDB in module 872748237.exe at 000A6635. The file is not a database."

If it is the System Security app I found, then it is a rogue program.
    Get malwarebytes http://www.majorgeeks.com/download5756.html
scan your computer with it and the see if you get the same errors when you boot up.

Well. I did install the recommended link. But..seeing as I don't possess a bank account or a credit card I can't purchase the program to 'fix' what it is telling me needs fixing. Thank you for trying anyway.

The program I recommended malwarebytes does not need to be paid for. If you are getting popups about paying for something it is not from malwarebytes. Please try to run the program again.

Thank you. I clicked the link you provided the first time. And it took me to a page that displayed in the top left corner a price for the program. I downloaded the recommened link before replying back to you the first time and the program informed me the free version would only fix the first six percent and that I needed to pay for the full program to get rid of the rest. However. I've restarted twice since then and the error did not pop up the second time. So perhaps it has been fixed inadvertantly. Thank you again.

Sorry, I've never had malwarebytes act the way you are describing. It has cleaned up three different computers. One person had between 30-45 problems, another between 75-100 problems and the last between 100-125 problems and all were cleaned without the program mentioning having to pay.

I want to be sure that you have the correct program so if you go here http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
and click the green download button on the left (scroll down) and not the orange buy now button and download it, is it what you have been using?

That is not the same link or place I was taken before. Another thing though. A friend had recommended that to me so I had already downloaded it to my computer before ever joining this forum. It cleared my virus..but that is when the Application error began popping up and the Malware thing was running a clean bill whenever I scanned my computer. So then I joined this forum and downloaded something from your first link and after restarting twice the error message didn't pop back up.

The first link is MajorGeeks and if you used one of the 6 choices under the word download, you would get the same thing that my 2nd link download gives you.
That doesn't happen; you get a 2nd major geeks screen and it says, your download will begin

One of two things happens: you get a popup and the download starts or nothing happens so you click where it says "Click Here if it does not".

My concern is that you have some sort of rogue security program on your computer.
Where did you click on that page?
