"Aquiring for a network license" or "Aquiring a Network Address"? Need more info on your network. Is it at home? Work? Did you change any settings? Did you install any firewalls? Any other software?

start / run / Type "cmd" without qoutes ..then at the command prompt type
    ipconfig /all

do it on both machines and post back.

    Done that,
still says aquiring network address, then if clicked on the Local area connection it says the connection is limited.
    thanks

Can't help if we don't know what the ip config is or the tcp/ip properties.

Right click on the local connection / properties / click on tcp/ip ...properties ...on the general tab you should have obtain ip automatic and obtain dns automatic ....advanced tab make sure that under ip address you have dhcp enabled (add if not there).

Took a closer look at the connections ...what is the ppp connection?

Have you hardwired to the router and gotten a connection?

Is the PPP your wireless card?

Your local connection (hard wire ethernet adapter) is not getting an ip address ...?
