Are there any "Hot" PCI-E video cards that you can actually FIND?

What is the best PCI-E card that a normal person can actually "find" and buy? Every site I go to seems to be "out of stock"...."backordered"...."not available"....."now taking backorders".........how frustrating!

I'm building a new 'puter and have selected all the parts with the exception of the PCI-E based GPU.....and I'm stuck on hold trying to find a good one.

Seems like all of the ATI Radeon and nVidia 256mg video cards are "out of stock". I've even tried to go back to the 9800 XT, which I know isn't a brand new card....no luck.

What PCI-E cards are really good and available? Is there a good site to help find them? Seems like everybody's "out of stock" or "the mfg. hasn't released them quite yet, but we're taking orders.....".

Any thoughts? What's out there that's good and "available to buy"?

    Thanks.

This is one of my fav electronics purchasing sites and the first one I go to check prices (always the competitive prices since many vendors compete against each other):

0 diffrence between a xpci and an agp card...for now at least. Other then you can combine the xpci cards

I have a PCI Express Mobo, so I need to stick with the PCI-E cards. They just don't seem to have "gotten to market" very quickly. The AGP market is full....PCI-E still has to "catch up" with supply and demand.

Any thoughts on a really good PCI-E card? I hate to just "be stuck waiting" while all the rest of my components just sit there waiting to be assembled.

    Thanks.

    :) Solved my problem....bought a EVGA NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT, 128MB GDDR3, 128 bit, PCI Express from Newegg.

It was rated in the "Top 5" of PC World's "PCI-E Graphics Boards" in the Jan. 2005 issue and it also got a good write up in the Nov. 2004 issue of CPU Magazine as well. I think I'll be happy with it. It was reasonably priced at about $200.

Thanks for your help and "Happy Holidays" to all of you.
