Argh!! Help with Mozilla Firefox please!

A few months ago I installed Mozilla Firefox because IE was running extremely slow. I really like Firefox, however yesterday it started freezing up. I uninstalled, the reinstalled it, and now it won't connect to the internet from the home page! I'm running Windows XP on a desktop.

 

When is it freezing up? Are you using wireless or ethernet for your connection to the internet? Does IE connect?

 

I can get to the homepage, but it freezes up if I try to go to any website. I'm using an ethernet connection. Yes, IE does connect...that's what I'm using right now.

 

Click on Tools > options > advanced > network
under network the first options is connections
change it to No Proxy
see if that helps

Also do you have any addons with firefox if so, please list
