    Hi all.

I use a program called guitar pro to compose music. It uses Midi to play back all the sounds, and apparently microsofts recent update has borked it. Before update it was fine, but the program no longer sees GS wavetale Synth as an option for Midi Output.

    Running windows 7 X64

I'm at my wits end with this, googling has returned no results, how do I return it to the old behaviour?

First thought, remove the offending update until there is a better solution.

If Win 7 was only offered one update, then I suspect it would be KB972270, the one offered to me for Windows 2000 and XP Home and Pro.

If Win 7 had more than one update, did you write down the numbers to help figure out which one might have broken the midi?

No, I used a restore point as a last resort (worked) and haven't gotten the update again yet.

Its the most recent ones for windows 7, there were only 2 critical ones, one was the malicious software removal tool and one was what I think has caused the problem.
