Doing a repair install will not wipe the malware...I suggest you go to the malware forum and follow the Read and Run First instructions and start a thread there with the scans attached.

What do you mean it just sits there? You mean that when you logon as Administrator, it hangs at logging on, and never pulls the desktop up?

Does your normal user account (not the Administrator account) have administrator privileges? I hope so. If so, you can take ownership with that account (you do still have to boot into safe mode in order to do this, though)... you don't need THE "Administrator" account to take ownership of files.

Here's Microsoft's article on the subject:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308421

To make it easiest, if most or all of your files and folders are contained in one folder (i.e. your old user account profile folder), I suggest taking ownership of that folder, and making sure the ownership changes apply to all subfolders and etc... should be simpler that way.

Also, the reason none of the files or folders have any volume is because Windows, by default, doesn't list ANY information for files and folders to a user account that doesn't have access to them.

    Try this
Reboot in Safe Mode, right click on the file you need to access, click Tools/Folder Options/View... Click Advanced/Owner tab. Click your user name or administrator if logged on as administrators group and select "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects" check box. Click Yes when prompted and OK

Booting to a DOS environment (for example the recovery console) and moving the files to a different, neutral location is a good idea. If that doesn't work, boot to a 'live' CD like a BartsPE CD or Knoppix or the UBCD4Win (the BEST live CD I have ever used!). This will allow you complete unfettered access to the files/folder regardless of ownership. You may need to track down an older release of the UBCD4Win as the newer ones sometimes have problems with file ownership and you may not be able to access the files/folders.

Knoppix v5.1.1(live Linux CD; 690mb .iso CD image file) http://www.knopper.net/knoppix-mirrors/index-en.html
Boot to one of the live CDs and be sure you have an external drive plugged in for back ups, or if you have 2 CD drives, boot with the one that is NOT a burner so you can burn your stuff to a CD.

    Good luck!
