Hi, did you run any cleaning/optimizing program prior to the scam ?? Any program such as Wise Care 365 or Advanced System Care ??

yes, ran advanced system care for cleanup, but did nothing with registry, always have that unchecked, plus just did a malware/virus removal thing with assistance from here. Kestrel13 helped me with the issue for malware.

Have you ran a chkdsk ?? Was malware found and removed ?? If malware was not found did you try a restore to right before you ran ASC ?? Also, this is a utility that should reset any changes made in your setting.

Yes, did a check disc, and it fixed 2 errors with that, and yes malware was found and removed. Can't do a restore point since they told me to erase all earlier restore points , so virus can't get back on! ASC helped windows update correctly, cuz before would get the blue screen...asc stopped blue screen and it shows other erros as well....that it won't or can't fix! Am gonna try this tweak tool you suggested....will let you know what happens!

I'm sorry buddy but I have a family emergency with my 78 yr. old mom, and I have to run, but hopefully someone will pick this up. In the meantime look at this,

Again, I'm very sorry, good luck.

    19vigilante73...

NickT asked me to help you out if I could, but I don't know much about Windows 7. I still grind my teeth on XP.

How is your PC doing now? I went over all that has transpired here. If nothing else, I am hoping a bump will bring in someone who can help you better than I with Windows 7...if you are still having problems...

Otherwise, I will try my best to help

Tried also fixit, and that just made my network icon keep circling, so redid the tweak thing, and so far today no issues, am still getting that johci in diagnosis.

    OK...

So that is the only error that ASC turns up now?

Just a quick look around the internet and it looks to me like you got something on board that may have messed with some references in a .dll or some .dlls. I guess the measures you have taken have you going in the right direction.

I don't know much about Windows 7, but from the very little I do know, it seems to me to be much better at healing itself than XP, which I use. Boots seem to me to lead to fixes (some or many) with all Windows OSes I think.

Apologies. I don't have any advice for fixing the johci thing. Never heard of the Network icon circling...I guess you mean it was taking a long time to connect.

Someone should come along. I'll keep an eye on this thread and keep it bumped until help arrives...

Are you actually experiencing any problems using the computer?

Have you tried updating your drivers? this appears to be a problem with a driver, but it might be a "ghost" problem in that it is reported by a program as an error but doesn't actually affect anything.

yes my drivers are up to date....am not experiencing any problems yet! What does that mean "ghost" problem? Thanks bunches!!

I just meant that the problem has been reported but probably has no effect on the operation of the computer, hence you can see it but it can't interact with anything.

If you have problems, come back to us, but for now I would recommend ignoring it.
