I have a GE Optical mouse, XP system
In my email, if I click to delete a open message, it deletes two or three along with it as well as popping open a new message blank...
If I choose to view pictures from My Documents...My Pictures it will open PSP to view the picture..it responds like that to every second click even if those clicks are several minutes apart and for something different.
If I am using PSP and making a selection, it snaps the selection closed without waiting for me to complete the selection... very, no impossible for me to control the mouse actions needed to use PSP
Games, well, it flips several cards at a time, rapidly and seems like it won't leave a playable card open to move! With Bookworm if snaps to grab every three letter word even if there is a word avilable with more letters I miss those additional letters as it has snapped so fast..
I have adjusted the mouse action in the Control Panel, even reset to default a few times, nothing seems to make any difference in the mouse action.
I also scanned for everything harmful with three different programs and none was found...did a full cleaning of useless files a few times...
Now I am not possitive it is a mouse problem...any ideas if it is or something else?
I also deleted and uninstalled the last three downloads...
Do you think a new mouse might fix it?
Please, let me know your thoughts!
    Hugs, Shirley :confused

I'm using a GE Optical mouse on an XP computer and have no problems with it.
First try another mouse pad. I have mine on a red foam rubber pad. If that makes no difference then try another mouse. Optical mice can be fussy about what they are sitting on.

Plodr, thanks for the reminder...ran into that a long time ago..I put a sheet of paper ontop of the mouse pad for the cushiony feel of it...while not absolutely perfect, I think it did made a difference! No deleted emails this time! and I tested it on a card game and that was much better (I lost) Will now try it with pictures..thanks agin for answering, hugs, Shirley

    Thanks for the feedback.
I bought another GE mouse, thinking it was like the one I use and really like but this one is a ball mouse. It is acting flaky so I think it is going in the trash. Life is too short to spend time fighting with a wonky mouse. ;)
