I know you people have probally described what to do in this situation many a time, however...

When I go to configure my Windows XP Home screen, after formatting, it says it can't find the asms file.

The regedit method doesn't work, and I've switched cd roms. Anything else?

    Thanks Buhbye

I have already tryed that and it doesn't seem to work. Anything other than what is on the microsoft page, and switching cd rom drives.

Check the XP cd, make sure it is clean and doesn't have any scratches. Try again.

Do you have a CDROM/DVD and a CD/DVD Writer on the same ide cable.... if so or just as a matter of troubleshooting remove the writer/slave and make sure the CD/DVDrom is set to master.
