CatT I can't follow the rules

every player i use seems to "default" to 4:3 for videos. in VLC it's even labeled "default". yet a few vids i've DLed (not many, but a FEW...) are obviously intended to be 16:9 or 16:10 or something else.

i hand toggle them after hitting play, but what a pain. why can't the clip recognize its own default?

is there some way to RESAVE the clip incorporating the correction? or at least to link theclip with the info as far as a PLAYLIST goes?

at present it's impossible to load up 5 or 6 clips, say, if #4 in the list is gonna require intervention.

Interesting. I've never had this problem. The player that I use (media playre classic home cinema) always sizes it's window according to the dimensions of the clip. Your player should do the same. If not, then find another player that does.
