Aspire 3050 laptop it does not reconize my hdd or dvd

Hi DUUDES i hawe problem whit my aspire 3050 laptop
it does not reconize my hdd or dvd drive in bios (both working condition)

1 hdd spins when computer turned on
2 dvd drive spins when disk is in
3 reconizes and boots windows mini xp from my usb flash drive
5 tried to flash bios on MINI windows xp but it does not alow to do that
4 iv took out cmos battery didnt help



IS there any posabilities to fix this problem or itS bye bye to my motherboard?:cry

Have you tried removing both the HDD and Dvd/Cd drive and rebooting and shutting down, then placing the drives "securely" back in and rebooting to see if they get re-recognised in the bios??, there may also be a biosflash fix for this type of issue (though i am unsure) go to your venders(acer) web support page for your make of laptop and see if there is a new bios version that will fix this issue, if there is a fix make sure it is for the peticular issue that you are experiencing other wise flashing your bios will not only not fix your issue you could end up rendering your laptop useless :cry.
