Aspire Laptop Black Screen

Hi All !
Thought I would try posting this here before I turned this thing into a
range target. When I turn the unit on I get the fan coming on, Hard drive spools up & the blue light comes on. Nothing on the screen, no sound from
speakers. Tried an external monitor & got nothing. I can load a disk & it seems to run, no change to screen.

I tried a search here & hit all the Function keys listed, removed the battery , memory sticks & hard drive & reinstalled them all. No joy. I thought about doing a Bios Reflash as stated on one of the search threads, But it was a fairly old post & I didn't want to do anymore damage with out checking in 1st.

Hi my friend , you have to remove ac adapter and battery , hold the power bottom continuously for 30 seconds , afterwards you have to place all that trying if your machine is starting up even do you remove the cmos battery ?

I did try the button trick, but it didn't seem to help. I'll check that manual out tomorrow. Thanks for the help !
