Ok so I'm having a problem,
This started because I plugged in a promise card into my board to format some hard disks, when I powered up I got three long beeps. I thought there might be something wrong with the card, so I pulled it out, same problem. so I started unplugging things, I got down to the bare board to avoid any stupid mistakes, I then pulled the ram out, same problem. I jumped the cmos across to clear that, still no joy. Finally I pulled the cpu off, cleaned off the thermal paste re - applied new paste and put it back together, now it boots. All is well and good, then I get the bad cmos, press f1 to enter setup, when I try this I have no keyboard, so I thought it was a usb problem (usb wireless keyboard and it can be touchy on boot.) I switched out to a known good ps/2 keyboard, still nothing, no lights, nothing. I tried another usb keyboard non wireless and nothing. So it seems, I have no usb, or ps ports working. any ideas. I'm fresh out. Don't ask if they are plugged into the right ports, they are. All I have on the board right now is the video card, the ram, a single hard drive, and a case fan. the board is an m266a by asrock, 1 gig of ram single stick)
