Assistance please, eal beginner here

Hi all, every time I turn my computer on I get a message saying this system does not have a dvd writer installed, if there is a dvd writer installed please check its configeration. Ive got 2 dvd writers installed and they show on the device manager as working but dont appear on my computer file. I dont know if Im allowed to ask questions here but would really appreciate any help

 

What version of Windows? If you put a CD/DVD in one of the DVD drives, does it auto-load? If running WinXP, try a system restore to right before the problem occured and that should fix it.

Maybe reinstalling your chipset/IDE drivers will do it....

hi thx for your help, ive managed to find my dvds by running system mechanic but the computer wont remember them so each time i turn on I have to run system mechanic again . Any ideas?
