I am on xpsp2, new computer, and every once in a while I get the same event ID error after these softwares freeze.
    This is the error:
Hanging application XXXXX.exe, version XXXX.XX, hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000.
hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang address 0x00000000

I will get these in firefox, real player, IE 6 or cuteHTML, and even DR Watson. There are others too.
Is there anything I can use to troubleshoot my machine?
I have tried looking in the Microsoft KB and found nothing!
I have also searched the web and many ppl seem to have this problem and no answers.

    ASUSTeK Computer INC. M2N-E 1.XX
2.00 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core
    256 kilobyte primary memory cache
    1024 kilobyte secondary memory cache
NVIDIA GeForce 7300 GS [Display adapter]

Thanks for any insite into this!

Rumour has it that Microsoft Office can cause this problem. So do you use Office? If so maybe a re-install mayne be required.

    Nope, don't have it :(
I just now (few days ago) put works 2000, and word 2000 in.

I haven't seen any difference in behavior the past few days.

I have seen that before and it usually is not the XXXX.exe program causing the problem – but something else interfering with it. Often some sort of add on tool bar or the like is the culprit.

The first thing I would try is run msconfig and disable anything not needed in start up and see if that helps. With a new computer, I think you will be surprised at how much you will find in there.

    Hi Corporal Punishment!
In the actual 'startup', all I have checked are the virus/spyware and nvCpl. Should I try running in diagnostic startup for a few weeks/days whatever? Then start adding things back maybe?
This is more aggravating than anything else!

    Back tomorrow. Night all!

    Wholly Canolly!!
That program says that there are 2862 Errors.
    All registry keys.
    \File referenced doesn't exist! OR
    2516 are empty registry keys.
    Things like:
    \Software\Microsoft Windows\screen saver .3Dpipes,
    \Printer Connections, \File Manager\Settings, MediaPlayer\Preferences, Audio Compression Manager\MSACM,
    \Software\Current Version\Internet, Current Version\Run

    Then there are:
    \Policies\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\Disallowed\CTLs, \Software\Policies\Microsoft\SystemCertificates\TrustedPublisher\Disallowed\CRLs,

and it goes on and on....

I am not going to do anything until I hear back from you as to safetly in removal of these things.
My machine runs beautifully, except for this quirk, and happens every so often....
    Thanks?
