AST Advantage NB-SX45 Color (very old laptop)

i just bought this vey old laptop today at goodwill for $20 it came with its lether case printer and all the cables and the batt still works . well i just got home and powered it up and it has a boot password it has a 60mb hdd, 4mb ram 2.4kb internel modem running windows 3.1 . well how can i bypass its password? i know how to do it on a desktop pc but not a old laptop. so could someone help me?

 

It should have a CMOS battery as well. Pop it out!

Oldest laptop I ever dealt with was a 286 that must have weighed 15 pounds.

Is this older or younger than that? It had screws in the back.

 

well this thing i think has a 386 or a 486 25mhz it has 5 screws i took them all out and cant get it apart

 

Wow older than the one I was working on last weekend... It was a ast running windows 95. I took all the screws out of the back and could not get it open, but then popped up the keyboard and there was 3 hiding under it..give it a try. It only had a floppy drive and was trying to get some programs on it hooking the hard drive up to my desktop using a usb adapter. Did not work, froze my computer during the install so gave up.....good luck

 

thanks for the help but last nite i found out the keyboard was the thing that opens when you remove the screws and there lied the batt's. (2 of them taped together wired to the motherboard)
