H i bought a used mobo that i was told worked fine but after putting it in case
all it would do is start and shut off in less than 10 sec. it has amd barton 2500 in it and i have a extra one so i changed them . now it comes on and runs but that's all. no beep no signal to monitor nothing. i changed ram no difference. HELP please joel

Reset CMOS then try to power up, I'd suggest just trying first to access only BOIS (del key) I'd also suggest using only basic hardware: mobo cpu/with hsf, one stick of memory and VC unless you have onboard video
(to access bios no HDD is needed)

Any time a used MOBO is used for the first time, First step is to reset BIOS to factory defaults, same same for using new memory as the previous user probably had different hardware and settings then You....

When your done resetting CMOS make sure the jumper is in the normal position.
