Asus Bios Update problem

    Hi. I was wondering if anyone has a way of finding a correct Bios Update for my Board. It is a ASUS P5B with bios Version 0211 (7/14/06). For some reason this version is not listed. New versions are rejected by the bios flash program. No help on ASUS web site at all.

    They may not list any updated prior to 09/08/2006 so yours may not be listed as an older Bios on this downloads page http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=P5B


    Is your PC a home build or a OEM as in HP, DELL etc? as if its OEM then they can have slightly different BIOS files as OEMs do change specs of the boards at times, BUT is your PC having any issues at present as a BIOS update is not to be taken lightly as flashing the BIOS without the updates fixing an issue you have, runs you into the risk of having a bad flash and killing the motherboard, so be very certain that a BIOS update is what you need to fix an issue.

    It is a home built computer. I did note that in checking board specs it was made for Dell, apparently originbally. Could Dell possibly have the correct Bios? This is getting stranger all the time. I got the board on Ebay so who knows its true origin or purpose. I guess I could put my dual core in it but that would be a step back.

    Additional: I checked the Dell Site and found that you can only get Bios updates by providing the computer model or tag number. No help here.

    Anyone got other suggestions? Board works fine but is only defining the quad core cpu as a duo corfe so it is a waste of CPU.
