Asus motherboard model M2N-SLI and it has a fairly large chipset heatsink (it's covers alot of area, but it's real thin and has no real fins) and it is really, really, really, HOT! Even at idle, it gets so hot that you can't even touch it, during any kind of task, you risk a shut down, and any gaming sessions seldom last longer than 5-10 minutes, then the PC shuts down. There's plenty of cooling in the case (4 x 120mm fans). If you look at the picture of this board, you'll see the big silver block that is the chipset heatsink. What I need is something that will cover it with a fan... a 3rd party cooler....

dlb, I installed 2 - 40mm x 10mm fans I had in my desk on the same type of chipset heatsink for a friend and he said his is doing good now. If you buy a new chipset cooling fan & heatsink make sure you measure the mounting pin distance, as I've found out that there is 3 different sizes out there so far

Yeah, I'm already thinking about the mounting pins. It looks like I'm going to have to completely disassemble the PC just to remove the chipset heatsink :cry I'll look thru my PC 'junk boxes' and see if I have some small fans I can jerry-rig onto the current heatsink....
How did you mount the small fans?
