Asus G2S Laptop overclocking

I have an ASUS G2S laptop and I really need to overclock it. The only problem is, on startup I hit F2 to get into the bios, and it displays clock speeds and such, but they are "Grey'd out" and there is not an option to turn them on.

Also, I have a hard time finding a program to overclock my GPU as well. I have an Nvidia 8700m GT and tried to use the NTUNE utility and it told me that it wasn't compatable because I don't have an Nvidia motherboard. So I was wondering how to overclock my GPU if I don't have an NVIDIA Motherboard.

    Thanks

I have to agree. Laptops aren't really designed to be overclocked and you can kill stuff very easily.

Nothing is really designed to be overclocked. ;) But yea, overclocking and laptops don't mix well. Unless your ok with loosing your laptop and are just doing it for kicks or you really really know what your doing. I strongly recommend against anything but very very mild overclocking, if that.

Well as of right now, I don't have the cash to build my own desktop (I have a few lined up already, just need the dollar bills), and my lappy just doesn't cut it anymore (even though I purchased it less than a year ago). As far as I know, there is no way I can unlock the bios to let me get into the clock settings, and I was hoping one of you would have the knowledge.

I do realize heat is a big issue, and I'm aware of the dangers of doing it.

I'm doing it because I re-installed Call of Duty 4, and it's been running it not so well, and with Modern Warfare 2 coming out in less than a month, I'd like to see my lappy chug through and play that as well. If you need specs, I'll post 'em.

In that case your GPU is the be all and end all of performance. GPU overclocking in laptops is a lot safer then ram/CPU overclocking (though still risky). Try ATItool or Rivatuner. But watch the temps! ;)

you could also try SoftFSB to up the FSB on the cpu.... or if you are daring enough, certain mobile cpu's have a pin/wire mod that lets you jump them up from say, 400mhz-533mhz fsb for example...
