asus k8n-e deluxe

Just installed new Asus MoBo /AMD 64 3000/and have been unable to get on-board Audio (ALC850 CODEC) working. Installed all drives from CD and updated.
Old Creative 5.1 sound card works fine. Speakers are 3 y.o. Altec Lansing Multi media (2 desk top and one woofer).
FYI- This is my first ASUS MOBo and have found documentation very lacking and support (e-mail or on line) non-existant.

Any suggestions?

Are you saying that you have also installed a PCI sound card? Usually a board will auto detect if another sound card is in the system and disable the onboard sound. You arn't really suppost to try to use two sound cards at the same time.

If you really want onboard sound to work, you most likely have to go into the bios when it's booting and enable the onboard sound.
