    Hi,

I am having trouble with the display on my ASUS laptop (model UX310U) Windows Pro. There are two black margins/borders on the sides of the screens and they cannot be removed. I tried changing the display settings and also the display resolution but they are still there (photos: https://ibb.co/HYrnkPT and/or https://ibb.co/dfftN2Z )

I contacted the ASUS support centre and they told me I would need to bring it in to get fixed and that I would need to pay for all the charges it will cost to take it in as well as the service fee and repair fee (because my warranty period has expired).

This seems far too expensive; can’t I fix this problem myself?

    Thanks

    We need to know:
    Windows version.
    Onboard graphics type/version.
