ASUS M2N32-SLI Deluxe Wireless Edition

    Hi, i am thinking about buying the Asus M2N32 for a build i wiil be doing. I am doing some research to make sure this is the mobo i want. The only thing i am unsure of is the Wireless part. This comp will be in a room where there is no cable hookup. I am wondering will the antenna pick up my regular modem or do i need to buy a router and receiver. I know i sound like a noob but this is the first build i have ever dealt with this wifi in the mobo. thanks for your time and hopefully help.

    Hi,
    In order to use wireless, you will need a wireless router, you can pick one up for 100 bucks or less. The closer the router, the better off you are. I have researched lately and Linksys, while the most popular, has the worst ranges especially from as little as the next room, so you might want to look into it. I think Belkin and D-Link have better distance performers..

    Hey, Major Attitude thanks for the advice. I was wondering since this comp won't be nere a cable outlet, should i just get a regular motherboard and just run wireless to a receiver. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

    I bought the newest one with the 3 antennas, because the store did not have the Belkin or D-Link I had read about. My main issue is my laptop actually fades in the next room, where I play poker, literally just 20-25 feet away. This "new" router is as crappy as their other products and will be the last one I purchase by them for some time. You can find some reviews in magazines like Maximum PC, Pc Magazine in the past couple months because these new routers are for the upcoming faster standard, so people are reviewing them with interest.
