I have an Asus motherboard (P4c800 Delux) and currently have 768 megs of ram that is of the pc 2700 type.

I am looking to purchase some more ram and wanted to know if pc 3200 ram would work with the existing ram that is 2700.
I have looked thru my manual for my motherboard, but is unclear about this subject.

    Thanks

I should add, my first 2 dimm slots are filled with the pc 2700 ram. I have 2 more open slots.
Also, what is the benefit of dual channel? I understand th\at the ramm have to be identicle. Is this worth it if you can not use diffrent ram?

The ram runs as fast as its weakest link so the faster ram would underclock itself,so it would be a waste of money.you could try overclocking your ram thats in to pc400 in bios to see if it will run as fast as your new ram,but thats up to you,try and buy some cheap 2700.
