ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe MOBO Boot up Message

Every Time i boot up i get this message,

Fast Trak 378 (tm) BIOS Version 1.00.037
(c) 2003 Promise Technology Inc, All Rights Reserved

Scanning IDE Drives...............

No Drives attached to FastTrak Controller, BIOS Not Installed

after this message by computer boots up fine.
The odd thing about this is I DO NOT have an IDE hard drive i have 1 SATA Hard Drive. Thats why this message doesnt bother me much, but it slows down my boot time so its gotta go. Also, The BIOS is installed because i can enter the Setup by hitting the delete key during the ASUS boot screen (im pretty sure Setup is the BIOS)

So i would like help in removing this message from my Boot up and get it to stop scanning IDE Drives. I have XP Home SP2.

 

I am not sure what the fastrac controller is but the system has to scan for ide devices to find your cdrw/dvd drives. This along with other information is the normal post of all computers but sometimes not shown.

BIOS is basic input/output,in a nutshell it is a set of instructions/settings that tells the computer how to boot to the operating system.

If you system is booting to windows within a minute or 2 then it is fine.

i have the same problam...i use just a normal harddrive (160GB) and i get the same message. it only takes about 5 sec. to do the scan but when windows only takes 20sec (normal boot,not hibernate or standby) to boot(very fast) it would help lower it by 25 %

 

im 95 percent sure the fast trak controller is the controller that "controls" IDE devices like Hard Drives

 

I would not call that a problem and just a note, when/if you install sp2 you will see a noticeable differance in windows load times.

I already have sp2 and my boot time is the same (it must be an act of god)
