ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe Problem

Ok I just installed this new ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe motherboard and its running off of a 2003 BIOS so I tryed to install Asus Live Update from the CD and it says "No Asus Motherboard Found, Installation Aborted" So I checked around and read that its is a .inf update problem and with an .inf update Asus will be able to recognise it. Have no clue where to get this update from or what its for so could any of you guys shine some light on this situation? Im running a P4 Prescott 3.0 GHz, Socket 478..... Thanks

 

I'm not familiar with the asus live update system but you can do it through windows,its also much safer when not connected the internet,you will have download the winflash utility asus recommends,then the bios file in the form of a bin. file,then run the flash utiliy when asked for the new bios file find the folder you have save it in and open it,the utiliy should then flash the bios

 

hmm not sure about flashing it myself sounds like i could end up with some BIG problems lol. I would really just like to get the .inf update then use Asus Live Update and stay safe because I am a n00b when it comes to bios. Any idea how to go about doing that?

 

if you're uncomfortable doing the BIOS flash through DOS, try this updated verison of Asus Update http://dlsvr03.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/flash/Asusupdt60701.zip

i think that contains live update... but I cant test it as I dont have an ASUS board on this system

 

no still same problem. First error message says: "NT Service Registry Error! Please Reboot NT and try again" then trys to proceed with installation and the next error message says: "Setup Program Detects No Asus Motherboard. Installation Will be aborted now." Im running windows xp as well so thats strange. I just left the same question On Asus so hopefully you guys or them have an idea for me. Thanks
