asus p9570 Nvidia 256 mb video card

Hi,

My friend brought me this card and I am trying to use it on my system. It seems to take alright (all the drivers and things seem to work fine), but after I try to run a game (opens a full screen) I get a flash and then some message that I can't read about an error and then it reboots my computer.

Any program I try to run that opens a window will reboot my computer. My old card works fine.

I think the processor is 800 Mhz and the ram is 256 pc 133. It is running XP professional. Does anyone have an idea on what is going on? I would like to run this other card because it far surpasses the one I have.

I am not sure what motherboard I am using but I can find out if that would help.

but having said that did you remove your old drivers, shut down your PC, remove the old card, before installing the new card?

What is the new cards name and version info?

What wattage Power Supply Unit do you have, should be written on the side of the PSU?
