Asus PC Probe

i am ganna start installing this but i wasnt sure what to put the threshold at it default is 75 any ideas? (Asus A7N8X-Edeluxe board with a barton 2800+ cpu)

 

You dont have to change from default settings, those 2800's not suppose to melt till around 85c but any way you'd never want to run to or at 75c

I have two pc's with 2500 barton's both stock heat sink and fan's for the moment one run's max 33c the other on asus board with asus probe run's 45 to 50c max set probe to 60c In my bios read's 4 degrees hotter
The asus probe is not known to be that accurate could be + or - several degrees, is sure to be different than your reading in your bios.
Which is more accurate Hum!
I run AIDA32 it's temp matches my bios

Not sure I believe those 2800's run hotter than my 2500

I'd set it lower than default, 60 max
compair your temp in bios to probe vs AIDA32

Remember cooler is better and Cooler is faster

 

Yeah on the heat side, ive been running my 3000+ at "90C" apparently, im thinking it was nearer 80C but it was running fine with no noticable errors and was running speedy too. i only noticed that it was overheating by miles when i opened up the temp sensor readings.

I worked it out when I tried to run Prime 95 and i got "hardware error" ... eek!

I worked it out though, had heatsink on backwards
