ASUS WIRELESS ROUTER WL 500g

Hi All, Im in the UK, West Midlands. Im relativly new to networking. After much debate we decided to purchase a ASUS WIRELESS LAN ROUTER (WL 500g) and a WIRELESS LAN PCMCIA CARD (WL-107G). Well im begining to regret it !!... It has taken me two days to finally get 3 desktops connected ( wired ). I have been trying since this morning to get the net connected on my laptop but having no success. It keeps telling me 'unable to find a network'. Got the shop to check that it was all working ok and they confirmed it is but im lost as to why the laptop wont connect to the internet. I have checked the user guides in depth and although they are a bit intense i believe i have configured as stated. Is there an easy way to configure my wireless connection cos im just about out of ideas.....Maybe something like an idiots guide...lol

Any help or pointers in the right direction would be awesome
