I'm going to get a new computer soon and am considering an Asus. They make a good mobo, but does anyone have an opinion on their PC's?

    Thanks

  2. For main stream machines I strongly recommend HP.

It's good to get diverse opinions about products, so here goes.
Sorry Captain but i think HP are OK as long as you don't ask them to do too much but if you want to use graphics unless you pay lottsa cash you don't get the power.
I bought a ready built HP and the only thing that i have left after changing bits(over a period of 18 months) is the CPU a Q6600, the Mobo was the first to go because they use cheap OEM boards and you are really restricted by them, then the PSU because 300watts was not enough and so on.
I believe they make excellent PCs for the mass market to surf the net but to the serious PCer they are just not up to it.

I have since changed to self build and am much happier with the results.

If i were to buy a ready built now it would have to be an I7 or at least one that had DDR3 as that's getting to be the norm now.

  4. I totoally a agree from a modding/advanced user look at a HP there not the best but from a pre build for home use by a general computer user there very reliable and the support can be pretty good, the drivers are always easy to find if you need them.

I preffer to build my own rigs then I have no one to blame haha.
